Each of our coaches holds recognized credentials and brings a wealth of experience to the ice, ensuring that you receive top-notch instruction and guidance in your skating journey. They are meticulously selected not only for their technical expertise but also for their ability to inspire and create a positive and nurturing learning environment for skaters of all ages and skill levels.

Beyond providing instruction in our Learn to Skate program, our Big Bear Staff Coaches are also approved to conduct private and semi-private lessons. These personalized sessions allow you to focus on specific skills, refine your techniques, and accelerate your progress on the ice.

Sergei Kunaev

Master of Sport in Russia. Professional PSA member. Over 20 years of active skating. Performed in various international ice shows with my wife Courtney. 5+ years of coaching experience. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Fluent in English and Russian. Specializes in jumps, harness, moves in the field and hockey skills. 

Courtney Lillard

USFSA Gold Medalist. 8 years of performing on ice with Disney on Ice and Royal Caribbean International as both singles and adagio pairs. 5+ years of coaching experience. Teaches all levels and ages including off ice conditioning and stretching.
