Welcome to the exciting Summer Learn to Skate program at Big Bear Ice Arena, designed for skaters of all ages and levels! We are thrilled to offer a summer program filled with 30-minute group lessons every Sunday, providing the perfect opportunity for you, your child, or anybody who wants to discover the joy of ice skating in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Our Learn to Skate program is divided into different levels:

• Snowplow Sam 1-3 (Ages 3-6):

In these levels, our littlest skaters will learn the basics of ice skating, including standing with skates, marching in place, and marching forward. They'll develop essential skills like the 2-foot glide and learn to dip in place, setting the foundation for more advanced moves.

• Basic 1-6 (Ages 6-17):

Learning at a faster pace, these levels cover everything from sitting and standing up on the ice to forward and backward skating and ending with mastering your first spins and jumps or earliest hockey moves.

• Adults (Ages 18 and older):

This program is designated for adults who want to learn to ice skate, get more comfortable on ice, or for those looking to start competing or play on adult hockey leagues.

Our experienced instructors are dedicated to ensuring your safety and progress throughout the program. We create a positive and enjoyable learning atmosphere, empowering all skaters to build their confidence on and off the ice.

The program fees start from $24.00 per session.

We can't wait to see you light up with joy taking your first glides and discovering the wonderful world of ice skating!

Adult Skills and Drills sessions,

This program is aimed at experienced adult hockey players who want to improve their skating, stickhandling, and shooting skills.

Though similar in format to ALTPH, the focus will be more on developing advanced skills than beginner fundamentals.

Sessions will be on Sunday evenings and will run in 6-week classes priced at $150.

Class 1: June 23rd, 2024 - July 28th, 2024 @ 9:15pm.

Class 2: August 4th, 2024 - September 8th, 2024 @ 9:15pm.
